J.E. Roberts-Obayashi Corporation is a general contractor in the San Francisco Bay Area
specializing in multi-family residential projects. Roberts-Obayashi has been true to the

History

J. E. Roberts-Obayashi Corporation was established in 1978, as a joint investment between a local company, James E. Roberts Company and Obayashi Corporation, after several successful joint venture projects in the San Francisco Area.

James E. Roberts Company was originally founded in 1932 as Moore & Roberts Partnership during the Depression era in San Francisco. In 1956, during the post-war building boom, Jim Roberts re-established the company as the James E. Roberts Company in Oakland.

James E. Roberts-Obayashi Corporation has become one of the most respected builders of multi-family housing, hotels, and commercial structures in Northern California.
